Today in Philippine History

June 9, 1945 - The first time the Philippine Commonwealth Congress meet since the November 1941 polls.

War came suddenly to the Philippines, when Japan attacked the Philippines without warning Afetr the NOvember polls. Thus, the commenwealth government was interrupted. The said government lead by Manuel L. Quezon and Sergio S. Osmeña went to exile in the United States. Quezon died of Tuberculosis while in exile and Osmeña assumed the presidency. After the liberation from the Japanese forces, the commonwealth government was restored. And on june 09, 1945, the commonwealth congress convened for the first time.

On June 9, 1975, the Republic of the Phillipines and the People's Republic of China signed a Joint Communique normalizing the diplomatic relations between the two countries. In relation, Presidential Proclamation No. 148 issued on January 22, 2002, declared June 9 of every year as Filipino-Chinese Friendship Day.

On the same day of 1919, the Philippine Womens University opened its first classes with an intial enrollment count of 190 students.

Happy BirthDay Seth Euan!

Seth Euan

Six months since the you came and brought smile to us. We were so proud and very happy. Very eager to see you grow up.

Your name EUAN was taken from a book. It was taken from the bestselling book series Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling.

I thought of having Euan only as your name but your mom wanted to have a second name and so we decided to add Seth.

I miss you son, though we can't have you back you will stay forever in our hearts and we will always cherish your memories.

Election 2010

The aftershock of the first automated election in the Philippines is not weakening rather strengthening. There have been flaws during, before and after the election. Speculations were widespread, too many to mention.

The elections went OK, yes, but not well. Winners were proclaimed but the two highest posts, the president and the vice-president.

It seems like the canvassing of votes for the highest posts of the country will take more time. More and more cheating arguments are being discussed and inserted as it progress.

The proclamation needs to push through.

An argument in counting the null votes should not move forward. The votes are to be counted as is and not to be counted for any candidates.

I say, losers accept your failure. Be true your word when you are still campaigning. Though you lose your battle, it doesn’t stop there. Supporting and guiding the incoming leaders would suffice and compensate your lose. This is our country. No one will help Filipinos except fellow Filipinos.

 Peace :-)

Mystery

Mystery
ebanreb

The world is full of mystery
You don't know when it will be revealed
But it can bring misery
And might get you killed.

Why do my eyes cry
As problems make me sigh?
Not like birds that fly free in the sky
In hills & mountains that's so high.

Why must I live
In the midst of everything
If not my love
Will come to bring.

Shall I be sad
If no one cares,
Or i'll be glad
'Coz no one dares?

Everything I do is wrong
Can't let my life go on,
No one comes along
Someone I can count on.

Though this happens to me
I'll be very merry
For it is what to be
The world's mystery.

Euan... I miss you Son

Today marks the second month since we lost Euan, my son. He died of Leukemia last February 19. He was too young to suffer such kind of illness; he was just 2 months old. He was diagnosed on the same day he died. A very strong boy, he even waited for me at the ICU before letting go.

I miss my son.

Thank you for the smiles you have shared with us. We will always love you. And I am sorry; I was not there when you needed me more.

I love you my dear Euan.
